Discover one of the most popular graphic techniques and join us through the entire creative process, from the very basics to the final print. You’ll learn how to prepare a design suitable for relief printing, transfer it to a matrix, engrave it, and then print it on a letterpress. You’ll become familiar with the specifics of relief printing, the possibilities for working with lines and surfaces, and the integration of type into graphic design.

We’ll draw inspiration from the prints by Josef Čapek, which are part of the exhibition The Factory for Beauty. Together, we’ll explore his distinctive approach to imagery, line, and type.

The workshop will be led by artist Jana Fišarová Strejčková, and you’ll take home several prints. All art supplies are included in the price and available at 8smička. We recommend wearing appropriate clothing for the workshop.
