Marián Mudroch Through the Eyes of Richard Drury

Marián Mudroch (born 1945) ranks among the leading figures of the Slovak unofficial art scene of the 1970s and ’80s, whose members employed conceptual methods in re-evaluating the form and meaning of the traditional work of art. With his characteristically playful, thoughtful and exploratory approach, Mudroch reveals and portrays the fundamental phenomena of space, area, light, movement and signs that, together, make up our world. Mudroch is also a respected teacher who has taught at several colleges including the Bratislava Academy of Fine Arts and Design. His exhibition at GASK – Gallery of the Central Bohemian Gallery is a small retrospective of his work since the 1970s.
