“Only wounds give shape to things. And to life.”

The novel Stone and Pain remains a constant point of reference for the author – a space in which the choice of a more demanding, “worse” path is affirmed as a conscious stance.

The painting, understood not as a mere illusion but as a field of projection, becomes, in Matoušek’s case, the vehicle for processes that shape both the author himself and his position in relation to others.
