During Pride Week, the Shella Radio collective invites you to Planeta Za garden for discussions and poetry readings. The program begins in the garden with two lectures focused on open queer topics. 

The first lecture will address building safe spaces for the queer community. Curator and founder of the SVĚTOVA 1 Artspace Zai Xuand the members of the local SafeSpace Bookstore will share their experiences in creating such spaces.

This will be followed by a lecture titled Queer Art as a Form of Resistance, featuring local artist Jan Durina, Elja Plíhal, a lecturer from kroužek intersekce, and Jaroslava Tomanová, cocurator of the Biennale Matter of Art 2026, to discuss the significance of queer art and its diverse forms, as well as creating space in the art world where art, through its creation, identity, political stance, and self-expression, can resist the system. The program will conclude with a poetry reading by Adriana Buss and Sopho Sheitnishvili.

The fourth edition of the biennial In the Matter of Art, subtitled Necessary Desires, presents art that arises from necessity and is shaped by the living conditions of those who create it. The project is co-curated by Jaroslava Tomanová, Jakub Gawkowski, and František Fekete. The Biennial consists of a three-month exhibition, a program of events, and long-term activities that explore manifestations of artistic and civic resilience, solidarity, and collective practice. The main exhibition runs from June 12 to September 13, 2026, at the National Gallery in Prague—the Trade Fair Palace—and GAMPA—the Pardubice City Gallery. The third of the main venues, the Tusculum Prague art center, presents long-term community activities that extend beyond the three-month duration of the exhibition.
