The exhibition Process presents a visual probe into the fragile relationship between identity, technology and space.

The title of the project carries a double meaning: it refers to the literal, technical process of analogue photography, but also to the figurative meaning of the Kafkaesque "process", the relentless system to which the individual is subjected. The tension between the absolute control over every detail and the fascination with the landscape, captured in impulsive shots, results in a direct confrontation between studio construction and the elemental representation of nature.

The backbone of the exhibition is the contrast between the technically precise collage composition and a series of exterior shots taken with a medium format camera in London's Battersea Park and in the densely overgrown forests around Moravská Třebová. These seemingly unrelated motifs form a compact synthesis of ideas about power, control and the search for free space, shaped by historical and political context. The tropical plants in Battersea Park do not appear here as mere aesthetic objects, but as living artefacts of colonial history, relocated to an alien environment. Similarly, photographs from the vicinity of the former forced labour camp in Dětřichov near Moravská Třebová look at the chilling history from an angle that, without knowledge of the context, evokes an almost meditative atmosphere. In this way, Bureš reveals the artificiality of an illusory representation of nature that finds itself in deep conflict with its original freedom.

Mojmír Bureš through this visual clash highlights the way in which the human desire for control shapes the landscape and our own perception of reality. Images of seemingly peaceful nature become a symbol of uprootedness and evoke unease. In Bureš's rendition, the process is a constant oscillation between movement and stagnation, between the apparent finality of the system and the search for a point of salvation in the landscape, which – although shackled and transformed by man – still represents the last space of freedom.
