The exhibition Near and Far features a selection of works by students from the studio Intermédia studio at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, led by Vladimír Merta with his assistant Eva Šindelářová.

Proximity and distance here are not merely a matter of location. They define the space between personal experience and imagination, between what we know intimately and what remains foreign or is still searching for its meaning. The exhibition explores the ways in which a new generation of artists uses visual art to examine their own experiences and the world around them.

Personal experiences meet chance situations, concrete places meet imaginary landscapes, and everyday experience meets experimentation. The diversity of approaches—ranging from painting and drawing through photography to experimental video and video performance—shows that the way we approach a topic can be just as significant as the topic itself.
