We invite you to the third in our series of situated readings, this time with Nela Štěpánková on the topic of New Wilderness at ssesi.space. The event will be facilitated by Katarína Pirháčová. After the reading, we’ll enjoy a (voluntary) ssesi sauna—please bring your own towels.

Gnawing away at academic rigidity together. A test of sweat for Bruno Latour. An unsolicited ecological experience of decay in the field. A collective observation of how wildness climbs over fences, gets tangled up in more-than-human “situationships,” and ultimately works up a sweat in a non-material sauna. A performative reading, walk, and sauna session on the aging of the new wilderness.

Nela Štěpánková studies philosophy at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, where she focuses on environmental and feminist theory—and sometimes, by mistake, Latin. She’s been hanging around the theater scene for a long time. She’s pretty good at throwing flip-flops.
