With his recent exhibitions, Jaromír Novotný /1974/ presents a shift of his own thinking from a display carrying sense towards a display of a sense of picture birth itself. His works evokes a rare species of an patient explorer in the contemporary painting world, now influnced by reproductive techniques. By his repeated examination of the qualities of the materials, such as paint or photopaper, or rather pointing out their flaws and changing these deficinecies into new symptomatic value, he seeks a system within his works and the possibilities of a paint in present day context.
