We are launching an Open Call for artists for the Smart Art educational course!
The Smart Art course is designed for female artists and graduates of art schools who want to strengthen their professional practice and better understand the business of visual arts. The five-month training program offers practical tools and one-on-one support focused on developing a sustainable artistic career. The course will be led by Tamara Pavlechová, founder of Shortcut Gallery and Nikita Nečasová, Executive Director of Open Studios Art Hub.
The course is led by experts who share their know-how in key areas of artistic operation such as:
– business and legislation: trade business and specifics of art commissions
– strategy and vision: working with personal vision, pricing and long-term professional development
– presentation: promoting work and building a professional profile
– individual approach: emphasis on face-to-face meetings, tailored consultation and monitoring each participant's progress
The course will run from autumn 2026. The duration of the course is 5 months, during which 10 on/offline sessions will take place twice a month. During these, it is also possible to consult with the experts* in person about your work, vision and strategies. You can apply via this form. Deadline for Open Call is May 1, 2026.
The course is delivered in collaboration with Open Studios Art Hub and Shortcut Gallery.
