The documentary film Rusty Flowers by Čestmír Suška premiered on April 15 of this year, and you can now watch it in the presence of director Michal Baumbruck and the artist Čestmír Suška at the Small Cinema Hall of the Municipal Library as part of the accompanying program for the exhibition Expansion: Acquisitions 2013–2025.
The film charts not only the process behind the creation of Suška’s works, but also the artist’s civic stance and sense of community. Through archival footage, it revisits pivotal moments such as the legendary exhibition Malostranské dvorky in 1981, for which Suška was monitored by the State Security. By layering personal stories, artistic projects, and civic stances, a portrait has emerged that transcends the boundaries of a classic biographical documentary.
Free admission only with a ticket from the exhibition Expansion: Acquisitions 2013–2025 from any day. Tickets can be purchased here.
