The exhibition highlights that working from the margins is not a withdrawal but an act of freedom. The conviction that the autonomy of artistic practice is inseparable from the health of society itself.

Lidice Art Collection presents Ságl & Ságlová: "Jak ti dupou", an exhibition that brings together works by Zorka Ságlová (1942–2003) and Jan Ságl (b. 1942) — two figures whose intertwined lives and practices shaped the course of Czech neo-avant-garde art.

The main gallery presents paintings and photographs on loan: Ságlová's Krajina s měsícem (Landscape with the Moon, 1983–1984), Der blaue Reiter (1992–1993), Králík utěšitel (Comforting Rabbit, 1993) and Červený lev (Red Lion, 1999) alongside Ságl's photograph Jiřice (1976) and three works from his Polachrome Křížov series (1985). Ságlová's canvases, rooted in the geometric logic of textile weaving she studied under Antonín Kybal, reveal her lifelong dialogue between structure and symbol, most distinctly through the recurring rabbit motif: a figure at once vulnerable and resilient. Ságl's colour photographs of the landscape around his rural refuge at Křížov register both the beauty of a private sanctuary and its fragility under the pressures of normalisation.

A second, smaller section in the ArtLab turns to Ságl's role as a chronicler of the Czech underground. Portraits from 1969 and a selection of rare film documents, including footage of concerts, happenings and gatherings, offer a vivid record of a cultural community that chose to exist outside all official structures.
