The group exhibition The Cake is a Lie focuses on the testimonies of two generations of Czech and Slovak women artists, whose work resonates between aspiration and its limits.

Through individual art objects and artefacts, it focuses on the aestheticization of work and rituals of consumption. It also attempts to highlight the everyday demands of symbolic fusion and the need for a repetitively performed assent to a gendered and class-structured social situation.
