The late ’90s—a time when dial-up internet was a luxury, music circulated on homemade cassette mixes, and there were so few phone numbers that people memorized them.

It was during this time that the group Bezhlavý jezdec was formed, becoming both a symbol of that era of euphoria and uncertainty and the result of a unique collaboration among four students at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.

Josef Bolf, Ján Mančuška, Jan Šerých, and Tomáš Vaněk were entering an art scene that was much more intimate than today’s. They were united by a deep interest in neo-avant-garde art, classical literature, science fiction, and D.I.Y., which at the time stood in contrast to the one-dimensional language of advertising, mainstream pop culture, and the imagery of the free-market spectacle.

Exhibition curators Sandra Baborovská and Vít Havránek will guide visitors through the exhibition.

With a ticket from the exhibition from any day, you have free admission to the guided tour.
