Come with us to welcome the new season to Tusculum. We will have a day in the quilt garden, around a communal table, amongst open workshops, in the community garden, tasting, listening and exploring a place that is reawakening after winter.

The program will include intergenerational workshops for the little ones, a communal garden feast by AB & Collective and a live concert by Dorcas Jand & Deborah Ruth to end the evening. The table will straddle the line between installation and communal garden feast. It may include what you bring yourself. Bring a seat, blanket or pillow and make yourself comfortable in the park.

All activities are free. Only the ceramics workshop has a fee, which is subject to a participation fee.

AB & collective
Adéla Zapletalová & Barbora Gábovátwill perform as an artistic duo under the group AB. This connection begins and ends with dialogue. It is a fundamental link for both of them on the way between edible installations, culinary experiences and work with photography or objects. In their installations they place great emphasis on detail, seasonality, locality, malleability, the given space, the given moment. They create visual experiences where food becomes the main means of communication.

Ondřej Doskočil
During the day, it will be possible to independently create insect houses, small shelters, bunkers or temporary dams near the stream that runs through Tusculum. The activity will offer space to try out your own ideas, build with your hands, practice patience and explore the possibilities of materials found in the garden. Ondřej Doskočil will be on site as a guide and support for anyone who wants to give advice or be inspired.

Veronika Špundová
In the workshop with Veronika Špundová we will develop together the textile frame of the future projection screen. Through embroidery, floral printing, knitting, knotting and layering of materials we will record the shapes, textures and imprints of the surrounding garden. The resulting canvas will be strung between the trees and become part of the outdoor projection program in the coming months.

The Tuscula Herbarium: an open activity dedicated to observing plants in and around the garden. You can create your own herbarium, collect prints, shapes and names of plants or just notice what is growing around you.

Ceramic Workshop Burnoutspace by StonyTellers:
Make Your Own Olla We will make an Olla watering pot, a traditional unglazed ceramic container that is buried in the dirt to help gently water plants.

Concert: Dorkas Jandova & Debora Ruth Live
Dorkas Jandova & Debora Ruth create experimental post-folk soundscapes based on live ambient, loops, combining various instruments and self-made birch whistles. Their music exists mainly in live performance without a fixed recording, each time a little different and often site-specific. Open form, slow layering and space for concentrated listening.
