Two exceptional personalities of the 1990s generation of intermedia art – Veronika Šrek Bromová (*1966) and Markéta Vaňková (*1970) represent the significant role of women artists in Czech art of the last decade of the 20th century. At the same time, they in many ways foreshadow the current broad emergence of female art within the Czech visual art scene.

The main theme of Veronika Šrek Bromová is the human, and more specifically the female body, the fascination with its reproductive capacities and processes of transformation over time, as well as the relationship of all living things to their own living conditions, which are systemic both in terms of external givens (ecology and its sustainability) and in terms of the internal psychological and mental situation. Markéta Vaňková conducts intuitive explorations of her own environment, for which she seeks appropriate forms that would sustain the non-repeatability of human nature in a specific time and space. Veronika Šrek Bromová  experiments with the polarities of the latest digital technologies (operationally available to all users) and the natural environment produced by our living framework without any human participation or involvement. Markéta Vaňková works with a painterly starting point and finds new possibilities for it in the wider field of grasping and explicating the subject.

The exhibition for the Jilská 14 gallery space will be a combination/collage of traditional gallery presentation and environment creation across different expressive media. It will be a play with constellations and their statements.
