The Rohan Design District architecture and design festival will this time feature UMPRUM and its new location at the Karlín Barracks as part of its program. A lecture focusing not only on the Furniture and Interior Design Studio and its new location will be given by one of its heads, designer Vladimír Žák. 

The lecture will present the work and teaching activities of designer Vladimír Žák, who, together with Roman Vrtiška, leads the Vrtiška & Žák studio as well as the Furniture and Interior Design Studio at UMPRUM. In his lecture, he will explain how the studio operates, its projects, and his experiences from design practice, which both educators have long integrated into their teaching of students.

The program will also include a presentation of the Furniture and Interior Design Studio and its pedagogical approach, which is based on close contact with real-world practice and collaboration with established companies. Guests will learn more about the studio’s temporary location at the Karlín Barracks and about opportunities to study design at UMPRUM. The lecture will offer an inspiring look at contemporary Czech design as well as valuable information for anyone interested in studying and working in the field.
