What is the concept of paradise? How is it changing? And aren’t we, in fact, in paradise right now?
This is the focus of the nature-and-figure exhibition at the Jan Čejka Gallery, which views humanity—with both hope and skepticism—as a species exceptionally capable of adapting to change. This is the story told by six artists across generations who have long been drawn to the subject, whether from a figurative or landscape perspective.
Their work is complemented by theoretical texts that not only chart the shifting notions of paradise throughout societal history but also offer practical advice on how to cope with change or how to face extreme situations.
