DSC Gallery is pleased to present the second solo exhibition in Prague by the renowned German artist Anselm Reyle (*1970).
Based in Berlin, Reyle is widely recognized as a leading figure in contemporary European art. He is best known for his large-scale abstract paintings, reliefs, and objects situated between painting, sculpture, and installation. His work explores the tension between the legacy of modernism and today’s visual culture. Using industrial and found materials—such as PVC foil, automotive paint, mirrors, concrete, and LED/neon light—he transforms them into powerful pictorial and spatial compositions with a strong sensory impact.
Reyle studied painting in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe and has been a professor of painting at HFBK Hamburg since 2009. His work has been featured in major institutional solo exhibitions, including at Kunsthalle Zürich, and is represented in significant public and private collections worldwide, such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Pinault Collection.
This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to encounter Reyle’s work once again in Prague and experience it within a new gallery context. The presentation also includes an installation from the limited-edition TIM lighting series by BOMMA, created in collaboration with Anselm Reyle. The collaboration marks the tenth anniversary of the TIM model, originally designed by studio Olgoj Chorchoj.
