A unique exhibition will once again be on view in the former Smíchov school building, telling the story of the local Smíchov neighborhood of Na Bělidle. The exhibition presents a cohesive collection of embroidered, felted, and dyed tapestries created as part of the thematic series of creative workshops That’s Smíchov! under the curatorial and artistic direction of the artist kosmo_nauty. The textile collection is complemented by original fabric pieces and collaged photographic pop-up books.

The relocation of Elpida from Pankrác to Smíchov, into the building of a former school, sparked not only historical research into Smíchov’s oldest school but also a creative exploration of its history, school curriculum, and the local area. During the 2025–2026 school year, we continued our creative research into the activities of the Vocational School for Women’s Professions, which was located here from 1909 to 1951. The themes of the creative workshops reflected the personal stories of two graduates of the Smíchov Vocational School for Women’s Professions: Marie Rozsypalová from Dobřichovice (1910–?) and Eliška Neužilová from Buková near České Budějovice (1922–2010). More than twenty artists contributed to the extensive exhibition.

The exhibited works were created as part of creative courses at the Elpida Center.
