For the intimate space of Galerie. Kaple. Holyně, Erika Pfeifferová has prepared a series of paintings accompanied by her own texts in a spatial installation designed by her son, visual artist Jan Pfeiffer.

Erika Pfeifferová (*1956) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in Jan Smetana’s studio. Her work straddles the boundaries of abstraction, textural exploration, and drawing. She uses oil painting and mixed media on canvas, hardboard, and paper, with a predominance of drawing. She focuses on playing with colors, texture, and geometric elements. She also uses unconventional materials such as wire, thread, and string, for example in the series Etažéry (2012). Her paintings are characterized by bold colors and abstract forms that evoke interior spaces and moods. Her works are now part of the permanent exhibition Czech Art of the 20th Century at the Gallery of Modern Art in Hradec Králové.
