"The transformations of Pavel Matyska’s creative approach carry an evolutionary undercurrent which suggests a deep connection to the artist’s life. Originally, his paintings worked with archetypes, comparable to children’s light and unburdened work. His latest work moves towards pure ideas, creating an even more acute imagery. He makes us ponder our existential struggle, the fight for our progeny - fighting for fire."
