The exhibition Ghost Protocol for Lovers features works by Dominik Málek, Laura Zvěřina, and Lim Jeong Soo, who, through their paintings, objects, and sculptural installations, explore the ways in which we connect with other people, with our own imaginations, and with the world around us. At the center of their focus is the body as a space where emotions, desires, expectations, and social roles intersect.

Dominik Málek interweaves various bodily forms, symbols, and “inanimate” objects in his paintings and sculptures as a means of reflecting on intimacy, vulnerability, and interdependence. The paintings by Laura Zvěřina draw on feminine and interpersonal situations in which psychological tension manifests in the body, blending fragility with a subtly uncanny humor. Lim Jeong Soo works with objects and installations that challenge established notions of what separates people, objects, and the environment, and observes how unexpected connections arise between them. Although each artist uses a different visual language, they are united by an interest in the moments when our perceptions clash with reality. The works feature figures straddling the line between human and animal, bodies undergoing transformation, and objects that defy their usual functions. The exhibition explores moments when communication breaks down and closeness dissolves into misunderstanding and a sense of loneliness.

Title Ghost Protocol for Lovers refers to the invisible mechanisms that shape contemporary forms of intimacy. “Ghost” here denotes withdrawal, disappearance, or a break in contact, while “protocol” refers to the set of rules, expectations, and learned patterns by which we navigate our closeness to others. The exhibition focuses on the moments when these patterns break down, revealing the fragility and contradictions that accompany every attempt to establish contact with another. 

Lim Jeong Soo’s installation will gradually expand and transform over the course of the exhibition. Visitors will thus have the opportunity to observe its development over time and the way in which new relationships emerge between the individual objects. The entire process will culminate in a performance that will take place at the end of the exhibition.
