The exhibition Entangled by the Gaze focuses on the gaze and observation as a society-wide phenomenon that is strongly shaped by the contemporary digital space. The presented works trace the movements of the gaze, as well as situations and states in which we are being observed or are trying to escape the gaze or hide from it. They focus on the ways in which the internalized digital gaze manifests itself and on how this gaze shapes our relationship with our surroundings.
Glorie Grünwaldová (*2000) is a painter who studied in the painting studio at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno under Vasil Artamonov and Marie Štindlová. In her work, she focuses on the themes of perception, digital aesthetics, and the search for personal identity. She works primarily in oil painting, placing motifs of the female figure and self-portraits within natural scenes or intimate settings. Her paintings reflect the tension between physical, bodily experience and the constant presence of the digital world. Technically, she is interested in working with stencils, patterns, and layering. She lives and works in Kopřivnice. She has had a solo exhibition at the Dolmen Gallery (Až tam, kde krajinou se ohlédneš, 2025), and has participated in group exhibitions at the Šmeral Art Factory (Hide and Seek, 2026), DSC Gallery (Kiss: Monsters Kissing Better, 2025), and at the Critics’ Gallery (Klidožití, 2024).
