The exhibition Hollows oscillates between nostalgia, fantasy tropes from video games, pop culture references, and the surreal imagination of the city at night and the landscapes of childhood. In his videos, objects, and still lifes, Nachmanovitch explores the rhetoric of high fantasy and its surprising overlaps with the masculine political imagination of the far right, while Žufníček develops his own visual language at the intersection of DIY psychedelia and contemporary folk mysticism with a subtly meditative tone. In his work, spectral figures of ethereal nocturnal wanderers and lucid urban scenes intertwine with furniture-style pedestals bearing scrappunk exhibits.

Adam Žufníček (*1999) is a visual artist who lives and works in Prague. In his artistic practice, he focuses primarily on painting, sculpture, and the creation of objects, in which he often combines found materials, bent wood, or 3D printing. He is interested in constructing mythological and symbolic structures at the intersection of everyday life and unbridled imagination, often referencing Czech-Slovak modernism or science-fiction imagery in his works, which frequently resemble absurd weapons or gamified skins. He completed his bachelor’s degree in the Painting 3 Studio (under the guidance of Petr Kvíčala) and in the Video Studio (under the guidance of Martin Mazanec and Jan Šrámek), followed by a master’s program in Painting 2 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (AVU). He defended his thesis last year in the Fine Art 3 Studio at UMPRUM in Prague. From 2021 to 2022, he completed a study internship at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany. His work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions, such as God Keeps Hanging Them Heavy Kilos on My Neck at the Zaazrak Dornych Gallery in Brno (2024), Dostihový salón at Cejla in Brno (2025), Doky, vlaky, hlad a boty at Stanice 6 in Prague (2025), and Svěcení Jara at Chemistry Gallery in Prague (2026). He has also presented his work in several solo exhibitions, such as the recent Household Items at Galerie Etcetera in Prague (2025), Empathy Enhancer at the Optiqa space in Prague (2026), and Peripheral Motion Studies at the Benedikt Rejt Gallery in Louny (2026).

Gregory Nachmanovitch (*1997) is an American artist, animator, and game developer who lives and works in Berlin. His practice spans video games, animated films created using game engines, sculptures, drawings, and rendered images. He is primarily interested in how contemporary experiences of masculinity, fantasy, and gaming intersect with radical political movements and various historical narratives. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sculpture from the Pratt Institute in New York and subsequently a master’s degree in fine arts from the Glasgow School of Art in the United Kingdom. His work has been featured in several exhibitions both domestically and internationally, such as “Rhizome Presents: CompUSA: Live Season Two Premiere” at the New Museum in New York (2018), “Scrap Yard Screenings” at Sara’s Worldwide in New York (2023), “Escapismus—Kagumi im Motherboard” at Kunstpunkt in Berlin (2024), and in solo exhibitions such as “the feeling of being safely enclosed in a shell” at the Dunkunsthalle in New York (2024) and “Self Portrait With Pets” at Number 1 Main Road in Berlin (2026). In 2019, he received the Stutzman Family Foundation Award for the video game Free Agency; in 2025, the Gioia Film Distribution Award for the film Yours Truly Poliphilo; and in 2026, his film Mannheim had its world premiere at the Kurzfilm Festival Hamburg.
