Johanna Binder’s exhibition Becoming Islanders explores environmental engineering, colonial power, and speculative ecology.

The exhibition is based on Binder’s research on the colonial history of Ascension Island. It focuses on the migration of plants, their coexistence, and their interactions with human and non-human actors in an environment that today functions primarily as a military and communication base.
