Exhibition Concept Dossier Stunts reflects on the gray area between formal academic education and the gradual transition to an independent artistic practice. Using subtle means of expression, it attempts to challenge and reexamine the obfuscation of educational barriers within the discursive environment of the contemporary (Czech) art scene.

Dossier—a binder, folder, file, or formal certificate of graduation—clashes with the dynamic Stunts—a term that evokes performance, irony, subversion, and the disruption of social norms. This phrase signals our growing interest in cultivating para-academic dimensions as we transition from official institutional spaces to broader cultural and social contexts. It is both a celebration and a critique, acknowledging the significance of the academic environment while simultaneously championing the value of knowledge, relationships, and practices that emerge outside its formal structures.

The central element of the exhibition is a site-specific work referencing the collective creative process, taking the form of texts, indexes, and recordings. It thus directly represents the key co-authorship from our (para-)academic careers, which simultaneously reflects the diverse power dynamics, experiences, and phases of academic life.
