Fragments of the Body in the work of Lukáš Vacek emerge as traces of the constant transformation of physical presence. In this constant tug-of-war between the intense revelation of the whole and the relieving concealment of the fragment, the notion of the body as ideal and fully defined crumbles. The artist’s artistic vocabulary explores how the body manifests as a fragile, ever-changing landscape, permeated by memory, resonating with desire, and enveloped in infinite silence. Meaning is constituted for the viewer through this material tremor, where the seemingly familiar becomes mysterious, where the visible elusively emerges and vanishes again into haptic folds.
