Michaela Nováková (*1991) is a Czech visual artist working at the intersection of object art, textiles, costume design, and set design. In her work, she creates soft organisms and imaginary beings inspired by mythology, natural processes, and the mutability of living structures.
The exhibition Exuvia at Nemezis Gallery presents a pair of textile objects that can be understood as two states of a single organism. The first resembles a soft body permeated by a network of lines and structures. The second appears to be its remnant—a discarded shell, a trace of transformation, or a record of a process that has already taken place. Here, the textile is not merely a material. It becomes skin, a vascular system, and an archive of the traces the organism leaves behind.
