Texture, erosion, deconstruction, video, assemblage, gauze-print, pigment, pixel, reliquary. Artists Petra Navrátilová, Ryan O’Rourke and Zuzana Růžičková present new work in the White Room Gallery.

Petra Navrátilová graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, a studio of restoration of paintings (2011), she attended also painting studio and the studio of figural sculptures  during her internship. She lives in Prague and works throughout the country. Currently she is engaged in assemblage techniques. In her work she uses "waste"from the restoration work, as fragments of plasters and old paint, remnants and dust deposits. Those historical fragments are essential part of her work. There are pieces which are hundreds of years old in her own collection. The main topic of her paintings is the mountains of the Himalayas. Petra participated in the restoration mission of the mural in the buddhist monastery.

Ryan O'Rourke, graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts; he lives and works in Prague. He  deals mainly with painting, digital image, its parameters and possibilities of changes. He also deals with direct programming of images. At the exhibition he presents a video about the Elbe river, its beginnings and its end, based on the scenes from the spring of the river in the Bohemian Mountains and its further fate hundreds of kilometers further downstream in Hamburg, where it grows into a remarkable sea, carring freighter to the whole world. The video shaped into contexts with microclimate changes at both locations at the time of shotting.

Zuzana Ruzickova graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, a studio of graphic design and drawing (2012). The artist uses materials that are more suitable for repairs of plasters such as lime, pigments, dispersions. Using a gauze she removes stains and uses the wall as a matrix. Most gauzeprints were made in Pragovka studio. Then in 2017 she moved to Marianske Lazne because of her medical issues.

"I continued here in removing paintings and drawings from the wall There were no dusty walls here like in Pragovka studio, but the shades of mineral water get me.My curative treatment is: three times a day, walk through the forest to the water spring to get a pigment, five times a week picking mushrooms in the woods, riding the bike on the steep hill. I'm getting cured of the sickness when the water in your body chokes you. So dried mineral water and paint with it on the wall and removing paintings back using gauze and then I fix it with a wax. "
