Radka Částková and Magdalena Šimurdová share a common starting point in posthumanism, which they explore through experimental investigations of the properties of various natural and industrially produced materials in accordance with the principles of new materialism. Their shared fascination lies in inorganic nature, rich in sediments and layered rocks. The installation brings together the two artists’ material research to date. It explores ores, sand, glass, cement, and plaster, which it transforms into new compositions. The exhibition Murmuring Matter thus embodies listening to matter and the materials used.
