Šaloun Encounter based on formal contrast between the exhibited works of the five artists against the unifying factor of the big Šaloun studio space permeated by evenly diffused northern light.
Šaloun Villa is an eloquent witness of its time. Built by the sculptor Ladislav Šaloun at the beginning of the last century for the purpose of implementing the commission he won for the monumental Jan Hus memorial standing at the centre of the Old Town Square in Prague. It remained all the time an artist studio while undergoing numerous transformations reflecting quite faithfully the historical events of its time.
