With the rapid increase in the use of generative artificial intelligence in the environment of graphic and artistic creation, we are experiencing again, but in a completely different way, the Barthesian death of the author. There is a questioning of whether drawing, painting and other techniques are still meaningful. For the only certainty that now remains is that of the artist. He remains as the only and last value that distinguishes his work from anything of which the machine is the author. The author's hours of work, the author's diligence, the author's talent, the author's view of the world.

Stanislav Kolařík is the embodiment of this. His drawings, watercolours and prints provide a clearly graspable, if often dreamily blurred, view of the world in which we live and move. Whether landscapes or urban environments, the staple of the work is a clear horizon, a Cartesian perspective in which we find certainty.

In the exhibition at Diptych he will present older drawings and linocuts, many of which he updates for the specific gallery environment, but he will also bring a completely new and unexpected reading of the world we live in. A reading that is completely new to his work and typical of today's world.
