In light of the exploitation of our planet, it is becoming increasingly urgent to rethink how we live alongside other, non-human beings. What can we learn from the sustainable way of life of algae?

The video installation Solidarities functions as a speculative research laboratory. In a series of videos, a non-binary, fluid figure guides us through a microalgae farm, playing underwater and merging with objects made of algae. The hybrid being Zoé tells us about the superpowers of algae and their symbiotic communities. Meanwhile, cultures of spirulina microalgae bubble away meditatively. New solidarities among species—this is a vision of the world after the Anthropocene.
