We cordially invite you to the guided tour in the presence of the artist on April 12 / April 25 / May 3 at 6 pm. Admission: free Antonín Střížek (*1959) is a Czech painter who already in 2005 was reputed to be a painter with an unmistakable view and style. In the same year Zdeněk Sklenář Gallery initiated his study stay at the Art Institute in Shenzhen, China, where he was creating for several months. He wrote about his stay in China: „I must say that Chinese landscape is unbelievably picturesque, I was particularly impressed by the mountainous area around the River Li, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. I’m not a fan of the saying that if you don`t see something, you are deprived. But in the case of Chinese landscape and my experience with it – I feel enriched. It is also for that reason that the paintings are different – I worked in a different light, in a different culture and the colour contrasts changed in the environment. There originated 10 oil paintings and 15 ink paintings, of which eight were kept by Zdeněk Sklenář for the Czech Republic.“ Back then we promised to ourselves with Antonín Střížek that the paintings we bring we will jointly exhibit in our country, too. And then we patiently waited for twelve years for the moment to present this closely guarded work of art. Zdeněk Sklenář, 21. 2. 2017
