Once Upon a Time in Salem… The title of the exhibition sounds mildly kitschy – instinctively, everyone will probably recall the witch trials of North America in the late 17th century. The title is mainly about connecting spirituality and a hidden sense of humour. We may ask: Why should we take tragic topics only seriously? Can they be reflected in a witty pitch? 

Tereza Jobová explores these topics in her photographs. The exhibition is a selection of several photo series between spirituality and absurd humour – in addition to the pivotal Undercurrents (2023), we have included selected images from The Mad Countess series (2024), How to control the uncontrollable (2023) or Home, Uneasy Home (2020).
