Tereza Kučerová’s work is based on careful observation of the relationships between people and objects, and on an exploration of their connections. At the center of the artist’s creative focus is the human being—with all their problems, connections, and relationships—as well as the world around us in all its complexity and ambiguity. Her paintings address themes of interaction, influence, and interconnection, as well as power and manipulation. They feature layers, accumulations, and structures, as well as an effort to find order. Figurative motifs alternate with abstract ones, and concrete experience with a more general perspective.

The exhibition title Always Something… refers to the ceaseless movement of life around us and within ourselves. After all, there is always something happening that influences us, speaks to us, inspires us, but also provokes us, keeps us on our toes, and urges us to react. What that reaction will be is entirely up to us.

Tereza Kučerová studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague in the film and television graphics studio under Prof. Miloslav Jágr. In her work, she has long moved between several artistic disciplines. In addition to drawing, painting, and printmaking (color lithographs), she has created original animated films (Na cestě, Komora) and has also worked as a film costume designer. She has received two Czech Lion nominations for her work. For her, the individual artistic disciplines do not represent separate worlds. She views them as intertwined and mutually enriching; everything stems from the essence of an artistic perspective on the world.
