Jan Pfeiffer’s new exhibition The Relation of a Relation presents a series of large-size drawings and hand-drawn animation.

The title of the exhibition names the situation in an explicit way while providing space for a broader interpretation, analogically to the very content of the artist’s work dealing with the meaning of two different entities and their mutual relation.

These subjects are not always contradictory but rather different to a varying degree. The exhibition attempts to capture this relation, or rather its dynamics.

The drawings made by graphite dust represent abstract atmospheric landscapes. They are often diptychs conveying a figurative expression of a relation. The hand-drawn animation depicts the transformation process of the individual relation situations in a more literal way.
