OUTLOUD presents seven collaborative works by photographer Vik and mixed-media artist Marina Yakimova. Vik’s black-and-white documentary photographs form a fixed, restrained and still foundation. Marina works in ink directly on the photographic prints, using a wet-on-wet technique that allows colour to bloom across their surfaces. She does not paint over the images but, in her words, translates what they were already saying.

Where photography fixes the world, colour releases what the act of fixing held silent. Neither artist could have created these works alone; together, the two mediums form a third, shared language.

The complete series will be exhibited for the first time. It consists of seven framed works in ink on photographic prints, each measuring 56 × 76 cm.
