Vladimír Škoda’s work is grounded in profound reflections on cosmic space, the relationships between planets and their systems, and the forces that govern them and bring about their origin, extinction, and motion. He is interested in mathematics, physics, astronomy, and the key discoveries made in these fields. 

Among his major influences is the work of Johannes Kepler, the most renowned scholar of Prague’s Rudolfine period, who in his time became one of the greatest pioneers in natural sciences. He is also inspired by the ideas of other astrophysicists. Giordano Bruno particularly intrigued him with his theories, in which he proposed that the solar system is only one of many worlds forming the entire cosmos. The sculptor continues to reflect on these ideas—far ahead of their time—and draws inspiration from them.

He was also strongly influenced by the reflections of Nikola Tesla, who, among other things, claimed that ‘everything that exists is energy, vibration, and frequency’. This principle is reflected in Škoda’s works: some objects vibrate, while others rotate, each mirroring, in a different way, the environment in which it is placed. The artist also engages with contemporary reflections on processes occurring in the universe, which further advance our understanding and influence his imagination as well as his artistic expression.
