Zdeněk Lhotský (*1956) is one of the most prominent figures in contemporary Czech art and glassmaking. An internationally acclaimed artist, heir to the legacy of Stanislav Libenský, and a long-standing innovator in cast glass sculpture, Lhotský presents a lesser-known yet highly significant aspect of his artistic practice in the exhibition Construction of Infinity—through drawings and monumental digital prints.

The exhibited works are based on geometric structures, rhythm, repetition, and layering. Here, Lhotský explores the relationship between order and transformation, precision and intuition. The exhibition title refers to the principle underlying the works: infinity emerges through variation, modulation, and the continuous development of structures that extend beyond the boundaries of the image itself. The compositions appear as fragments of larger wholes without a clear beginning or end, drawing the viewer into a space of shifting perception.

The exhibition also enters into a dialogue with the architecture of Dům Radost. The functionalist emphasis on construction, rhythm, and verticality finds a parallel in the artist’s images, whose spatial dynamics continue beyond the picture plane and resonate with the architectural environment. Construction of Infinity presents Lhotský’s work as a space where drawing becomes architecture, geometry transforms into a living organism, and the image opens into an endless field of visual possibilities.
