Books you won't find anywhere else – publications on art, catalogues, monographs, authors' books, theoretical texts, specialized magazines, books on film, theatre and music, audio, DVDs, comics, a selection of children's books and more. We are happy to support author projects and titles that do not make it into mainstream distribution.
We focus on publishing and supporting art books, original texts by contemporary Czech artists, previously unprocessed topics in the field of art and current texts on visual culture. Our titles include Atlas of Spontaneous Art, a guide to places and museums with exhibitions of art autodidacts from the categories of art brut, media art and folk or naive art, and the artist book Plane Dreams by Rudolf Samohejl, Cars by photographer Václav Jirásek, Albena by Katerina Držková and last but not least literary texts by visual artists Tiktik tiká bír, collected testimonials by Martin Zetová and The Little Encyclopedia of Inappropriateness by Václav Magid. In 2019, we published How to See the World, Nicholas Mirzoeff's guide to 21st century visual culture. Through our publishing activities, we aim to break the boundaries between books and art, between literature and visual art, and to bring new or previously neglected topics to the fore.
The shop is also the office of ArtMap, where we work. You will also find a space for the presentation of artworks – the Wallpaper Gallery in the entrance hall to the shop. We host book launches, presentations, readings, workshops.
