Galerie Atrium Žižkov is a space focused on projects that aim to provoke discussion, open up current social issues and offer alternative answers. The exhibitions here do not end on the day of their opening. Our aim is not to exhibit artistic artefacts. The gallery's long-term program and goal is to lower the boundary between exhibiting artists/artists and visitors. We are looking for ways to make the themes understandable to all social, gender and age groups. We actively apply an equal and inclusive approach.
The gallery's exhibition projects offer a variety of ways to get actively involved and become part of them. Interactive exhibitions deliberately offer more complex issues in understandable language, and we also include a variety of experts, organisations or institutions focusing on social, societal or environmental issues in the dramaturgy of our exhibitions. Events for schools, professionals and the general public and educational activities are a natural part of the programme. We create an offer for the active involvement of all visitors.
We are not afraid to think of the gallery space as a place for constant and active dialogue. We are an educational gallery in the broadest sense of the word. We adapt the interactive, communicative and visual approach of our exhibition projects to this. The author of the gallery's concept is Ondřej Horák (Fuczik) and the team of Galerie Atrium Žižkov, who together are preparing a long-term exhibition plan. The exhibition projects are conceived as educational and we offer a programme for schools and the public. For this reason, we do not provide individual visitors with gallery space for traditional exhibitions.
