The Alternativa Gallery provides a space for contemporary artistic approaches, while the IGLOO sound gallery in the basement opens up a world of artists working with sound. In the building on Masaryk Square, a permanent exhibition showcases the best of the gallery’s own collections—a selection of more than 6,000 works of art ranging from the 19th century through the avant-garde and modernism to contemporary Czech art. Alongside this, there is ample space dedicated to the region’s traditional art and culture.

A natural part of the exhibitions are guided tours, lectures, discussions with artists, and creative workshops for children and adults—and for those who want to delve deeper, a specialized library where the themes of the exhibitions are explored in greater depth.
