Celorepublikový festival Den architektury se v letošním roce uskuteční od čtvrtka 1. do středy 7. října 2026. Jeho 16. ročník nese motto „Bydlím, tedy jsem“ a zaměří se na bydlení jako jednu z nejzásadnějších otázek současné společnosti.

The fifth joint opening at the TIC Gallery will feature:

Prague-based artists Bára Mrázková and Tereza Velíková and their exhibition Psychohygiena kočkou, whose central theme is famous cat memes.

the project Taken and Given by Brno-based artist Tereza Holá and Mongolian artist Onongua Enkhtur, which focuses on the relationship between humans and nature in various cultures.

And a new film by Slovak artist Tomáš Rafa, which responds to current political events in Slovakia.

Kars Gallery, in collaboration with the Lidice Art Collection, presents an exhibition titled Celebration of Life.

The exhibition brings together a selection of artworks from the Lidice Art Collection, one of the Czech Republic's most significant international public collections. It was formed entirely through the generosity of donors and stands as a long-term international expression of solidarity that began in the shadow of one of the worst Nazi crimes of the Second World War. Together with the collections in Skopje and Sarajevo, it is one of the few solidarity collections in Europe.

The idea of creating an art collection for Lidice was first discussed in 1962 by Sir Barnett Stross (1899–1967) and Marie Janošová (1920–1998), a surviving Lidice Woman who also served as its mayor between 1960 and 1989. In 1966, Stross invited artists to donate works in memory of the village's victims and to celebrate the return of life to Lidice. Czech artists who responded included Vladimír Jarcovják, Jitka and Květa Válová, Karel Váca, Eva Kmentová, and Olbram Zoubek. International artists included Gerhard Richter, Sigmar Polke, and Joseph Beuys. These and other artists were secured over the years by the Berlin gallerist and donor René Block.

The Lidice Art Collection today comprises 610 works and continues to grow. It stands as an example of strengthened solidarity in contemporary art, memory, and society. At a time when society often slides toward superficiality and cynicism amid a constant flow of information, manipulation, and scrolling that can lead to an overload of facts and numbness toward evil, these works remind us that even in the most difficult moments, there is room for hope and human dignity.

Hunt Kastner is pleased to present a group exhibition marking the gallery’s 20th anniversary, titled A Whole Different Animal, curated by jen kratochvil and Laura Amann Marín. This exhibition project, themed around a birthday celebration, fills both the main exhibition hall and the smaller projekt_room and features works by more than twenty-two artists.

There are b-days, and there are b-days. Those you wanna celebrate, those you wanna just live through without even noticing, and those you’d rather forget about altogether. This one is definitely worth a proper bang! There are galleries, and there are galleries. Different animals in the jungle of the art world. Coming together to hug everyone and sing happy birthday might not be the traditional serious art vibe, but the times are changing; new animals on the block bring new habits, time is passing, sentiment and hints of nostalgia growing, new voices with fresh eyes and ears coming in to turn everything upside down before realizing someone did that already. 20 years is a blink of an eye. 20 years is really something. Especially in the former East, in the now so-called Central-Eastern Europe; especially for a private gallery here. 20 artists represented by the gallery, along with some long-term friends and current or former colleagues, present their works composed into a scenography of a celebration. There are parties, and there are parties… Join us for this one, whether you remember the first show 20 years ago or this is your first time around at Hunt Kastner. Literární festival pro děti a jejich rodiče s předními českými i zahraničními autory nejen v Praze, ale i Brně, Plzni, Olomouci, Znojmě a Blansku. Slavnostní zahájení 17. ročníku proběhne 19. září ve Werichově vile na pražské Kampě. Vstup je zdarma.

Festival Film a architektura podněcuje diskuze o architektuře a urbanismu prostřednictvím projekcí autorských dokumentů, inovativních, experimentálních i hraných filmů.

Nabitý program v pátek 2. října startuje dopoledne konferencí o umění v evropském veřejném prostoru za účasti komunálních politiků, expertů, pedagogů i aktivních umělců v Čítárně Unijazz, na kterou naváže večerní superdebata o budoucím rozvoji Florence a okolí Krenovky v Divadle Ponec, kde se také uskuteční koncert Vladimira 518 a Mikea T.
