As part of Mongolian artist Onongua Enkhtur’s Residency at 0x1 Gruppe, we invite you to visit the studio, where Onongua Enkhtur and Tereza Holá will present the process of creating new works for their upcoming exhibition at Galerie TIC. Both artists work with natural materials such as grass, straw, clay and leather. They weave and braid these materials into fibres, cords and structures, in an approach that can be understood as both distinctly sculptural and ritualistic.

The shared project is framed by the traditions of the harvest festival and the Mongolian rituals of tahilga — celebrations of gratitude, birth and transition. These ceremonies are rooted in the understanding of nature as a living and sacred system, in which humans do not engage in a one-sided relationship of consumption, but in a form of spiritual exchange. Within a contemporary artistic context, such practices re-emerge stripped of their literal religious framework, yet charged all the more strongly with environmental symbolism.

The Open Atelier is also part of Onongua Enkhtur’s residency in Brno. The location of the studio is at Cejl 76 – in the first building and on the second floor.
