An event called 12 inside will be at The 30 Gallery on Wednesday 25 July at 18:00. The space of the gallery and its locality will be filled with art works and art projects of 12 art students from the SAIC Prague Summer Program. This is a six-week summer art program held for the last 9 summers at The Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and organized by Resident Director and Artist Richard Willenbrink alongside great Czech artists Veronika Bromová and Igor Korpaczewski. This summer artist and teacher Irina Botea joins them from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. 12 inside is a happening event, including works by twelve artists/students who belong to the young generation of American and International Art. Students came to Prague as part of the SAIC Summer Program and will present mainly new projects, which they created in the studios of the Academy of Fine Art (AVU) during their stay in Prague, or at the place of The 30 Gallery. In addition to the presentation of their art work, the event 12 inside is a 'farewell' final action, as the time of this event is a few days before students leave back to Chicago. Artists reflect the newly acquired experience from Prague, as Prague is absolutely different place than Chicago where most of them live. Young artists work with a variety of techniques, from traditional paintings and drawings to new media and performance. The emphasis is placed on the interaction between artist, work and visitor (who can, for example, get a self-portrait drawn by one of the participating artist).
