Adam Vačkář / Botany Bay
The impulse behind this project comes from episode 22 of Star Trek, where a spaceship named the SS Botany Bay (after a place that was a metonym for a penal colony during the European habitation of Australia) is travelling through the universe with a cargo of genetically-enhanced humans in deep hibernation. The exhibition presents an environment made of natural organic materials that have been modified with synthetic materials. I investigate the catalysing of originally natural petroleum-based synthetic materials and their potential impact, through human industry, on the morphology of organic elements. (Adam Vačkář)

The flag Ria Pacquée has designed for Gallery SPZ contains a number of elements that appear more often in her work. On the one hand the image is a design for an ongoing sticker project: wherever she travels, she always takes a stack of stickers with her and leaves them at strategic places. The image is a rebellious gesture and perhaps a bit of provocative with all the windows around. The image will also be on the cover of her new publication that will be launched soon. The second element is the colour blue that Pacquée uses more often for actions and work in public space as in the performance Poiting and Shouting she did in Antwerp in 2011.
