We would like to invite you to the launch of the book Zbyněk Baladrán: Testimony on the Unknowability of the World by Martin Charvát. The evening will also include the unveiling of Zbyněk Baladrán's work at Gallery Tapeta. 

The book is an interpretation of more than twenty years of work by Czech artist Zbyněk Baladrán. The basic starting point is the conviction that the world is a complex, unreadable, changing and unstable environment that defies the final effort to understand it. Yet Baladrán embarks on such an uncertain enterprise by tracing, making visible and diagnosing the injustices taking place in the world, in the belief that the artist's goal is nothing less than to stop the repressive and destructive forces that lead to the absolute destruction of the environment, society and man as such.

The artist does not create for himself but for others, for those yet to come after us, outlining new forms of coexistence, an ecological-ethical order in which injustice would disappear and in which a whole range of becomings could take place, experimenting with identity and giving voice to those from whom it has been taken. In this way, Baladrán constructs visions of possible worlds based on empathy and respect, resisting the structures of normalization and mundanity that prevent the world from becoming a better place to live.
