Landscape Metabolism is a series of three performative dinners that explore the relationship between the human body, food, and the environment as it changes with the seasons. The dinners are based on the idea of metabolism not only as a biological process within the body, but as a broader ecological process: the soil receives, the seed germinates, plants grow, food is harvested, stored, decomposed, and transformed back into life.

The first dinner focuses on the moment before growth. On the seed as the bearer of the future and on the soil as the living medium that enables this growth. By spending time together and sharing a meal, we will experience—both sensually and through conversation—the process of growth from its very beginning. Through food and discussion, we aim to cultivate sensitivity toward non-human agency and the metabolic workings of natural elements, which sustain both our livelihood and the nourishment of fauna and flora.

Each dinner represents a single phase of the metabolic cycle, during which food becomes for us a medium for perceiving time, landscape, the body, and transformation. The series traces a journey from the potential of new life through a period of abundance to the winter phase of fermentation, preservation, and decay—themes we will explore together in the upcoming dinners of the Metabolization cycle.

The project intertwines gastronomy, environmental thought, seasonality, ritual, and sensory experience. The dinners feature local ingredients, the changing seasons, and the question of how our bodies metabolize not only food but also their surroundings, relationships, climate, and time.

Capacity is limited to 15 people, and registration is required. The listed price is the minimum; we welcome higher contributions.
