Reminder of an experimental poetry, drama and magic of Northern Bohemia and the poet standing in the fire.

Emil Julis / 1920 - 2006 / literary scene came up in thirty-seven years, when Jiri Kolar recommended his entirely unknown verses for publication in the Club of Bibliophiles. In 1953 he was part of the "70,000 from administration to production" sent to work in a steel plant in the Most. It meant for him initiatory experience. As he said this landscape full of contrasts was fascinating, as for Dante hell. In the sixties he belonged to the leading personalities of Czech experimental poetry, sophisticated mystification, which ironically dealt with the lyrical hypocrisy "engaged" poetry. Then it came within four years, five collections, but the sixth was in 1971 destroyed by the authorities. His work became recognized after 1990, but to a wider audience his masterful work of poetry has not penetrated yet .
